About Elizabeth

Hi, I'm Elizabeth – and I believe real change starts on the inside

Inner Shift coach, counsellor, hypnotherapist, author, wife and mother – walking alongside people who are ready to let go of what's been holding them back.

My story

Where the mountains meet the sea

Most people know me as Elizabeth; those closest to me call me Ilze. I live in the beautiful Helderberg, in Somerset West, where the mountains meet the sea – a daily reminder to me that new beginnings are always possible.

For more than 10 years I've worked as a hypnotherapist, helping people find calm, sleep better, grow in confidence and move past patterns that kept them stuck. For seven years I also volunteered as a Lifeline-trained crisis counsellor, sitting with people in some of their hardest moments.

Those conversations taught me something I've never forgotten: people don't need to be fixed. They need to be heard, understood and gently supported to find their own way forward.

Today I'm completing my Bachelor of Social Science in Counselling & Psychology at SACAP, because I want everything I offer to be grounded in sound, evidence-based understanding as well as compassion.

I'm Elizabeth – an Inner Shift coach, counsellor, hypnotherapist, author, wife and mother – so I know first-hand what it's like to juggle many roles, carry other people's needs, and sometimes forget my own.

Why work with me

Understanding that comes from the inside

Free support lines like Lifeline do vital work – I served there for seven years and I'm grateful for every volunteer. What I offer is different: consistent, one-on-one support with depth, a practical plan, and someone who walks the road with you.

  • I've walked this road myself

I know loss, family addiction and recovery from the inside – not just from textbooks. You won't need to explain or defend your story. You'll be understood, never judged.

  • More than talking

I blend counselling, coaching, hypnotherapy and my intuitive gift (in Premium Intuitive Alignment), so our sessions aim for a real, lasting shift – not just another conversation.

  • Experience you can lean on

Seven years of Lifeline crisis counselling and more than 10 years as a hypnotherapist mean I stay calm and steady with whatever you bring.

  • Consistent, one-on-one support

The same person every time, at a pace that suits you – in the Helderberg or online – with a clear plan for your next steps.

My approach

Who I work with

I work with adults, and with young people under 18 when a parent or legal guardian gives consent and signs a consent form. Sessions are online anywhere in South Africa or the world, or in person in the Helderberg (Somerset West and Strand area).

Many of the people I work with are women in busy, demanding seasons of life – moms, professionals, caregivers and leaders – but everyone is welcome.

A note on what I offer

I am an inner shift coach, hypnotherapist and counsellor, with seven years of Lifeline crisis counselling experience, and I'm currently completing my BSocSci (Counselling & Psychology) at SACAP. My services are not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment. If I believe you would be better supported by a doctor or another healthcare professional, I will tell you honestly and help you find the right support.
