Hypnotherapy in Somerset West, the Helderberg and online

A calm, focused, deeply relaxed state to help you work on stress, sleep, confidence and the patterns you'd like to change – with you in control throughout.

I've worked as a hypnotherapist for more than 10 years. I see clients in person in Somerset West and the Strand area – easy to reach from Stellenbosch and Cape Town – and online anywhere in South Africa or the world.

What is hypnotherapy?

A natural, relaxed state – with you in charge

Hypnotherapy uses a calm, focused, deeply relaxed state – similar to being completely absorbed in a book, a piece of music or a beautiful view – to help you work on the things you'd like to change.

You remain aware and in control the whole time. You can hear everything, you can speak, and you can stop whenever you like. Nothing happens without your consent, and it's nothing like stage hypnosis.

Faith and spirituality are welcome in our sessions, whatever your beliefs – and if you'd rather keep them separate, that's completely respected too.

People often come to hypnotherapy for help with

  • Stress, anxious thoughts and feeling overwhelmed
  • Switching off and sleeping more restfully
  • Confidence and self-belief
  • Nerves before exams, presentations or performances
  • Habits and patterns they'd like to change

Hypnotherapy is a complementary approach. It is not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment, and results vary from person to person.

Your sessions

What happens in a hypnotherapy session

Your first session is 90 minutes, so we have time to get to know each other and understand what you'd like to work on. I'll ask about what's brought you here and any relevant background, including any medical or mental-health support you're currently receiving. You only share what you're comfortable sharing.

Before we begin, I'll explain exactly what will happen. Then I'll guide you into a calm, relaxed state. At the end, we gently come back, reflect together and agree on something practical to take home.

Follow-up sessions are 60 minutes. We'll decide together how many sessions might be helpful – there's never pressure to book more.

Prefer to stay at home? Online hypnotherapy works well for many people: all you need is a quiet, private room, a stable connection and headphones.

Questions

Hypnotherapy questions

Is hypnotherapy safe? Will I lose control?

Hypnotherapy is a natural, relaxed and focused state. You stay aware, you can hear everything, you can speak and you can open your eyes and stop at any time. No one can make you do anything against your will or your values. It's nothing like stage hypnosis.

Can hypnotherapy be done online?

Yes. Many people find online hypnotherapy just as effective and more convenient, because you're relaxed in your own space with no travel. You'll need a quiet, private room, a stable internet connection and headphones.

How much does hypnotherapy cost?

The first session is 90 minutes and costs R850. Follow-up sessions are 60 minutes and cost R750. Packages: 3 sessions for R2,100 (valid 8 weeks) or 5 sessions for R3,250 (valid 12 weeks). Payment is by cash or EFT.

How many hypnotherapy sessions will I need?

It depends on you and what you'd like to work on. Some people find one or two sessions helpful; others prefer to work together over a few months. We'll discuss this together, and you're never locked in.

Is hypnotherapy compatible with my faith or beliefs?

Nothing happens without your knowledge and consent, and you remain fully in control. Faith and spirituality are welcome in our sessions, whatever your beliefs – and if you'd rather keep them separate, that's completely respected too. I'm happy to talk through any concerns on a free discovery call.
